The One Absorbed in Naam

The primordial Name
Is your essence,
He who realizes it
Becomes a swan;
Who merges in Naam
Joins the family
Of the immortal ones.

K.S.S., p. 83:3

He who takes Naam
Knows the secret
Of all Vedas and scriptures;
But devoid of Naam
He will burn in the fires of hell,
Although a savant
Of the four Vedas
He may be.

K.S.S., p. 86:36

Woe to the days of plenty
If Naam from the heart departs;
Blessed be the days of adversity
If each moment
The heart turns to Naam.

K.S.S., p. 86:39

The way your mind
Stays engrossed in maya,
Remain thus absorbed in Naam;
Then you will pierce the region
Of the starlit firmament
And proceed to the city
Of eternity.

K.S.S., p. 86:42

Numerous sinners
Have been redeemed
By the practice
Of the true Name;
O Kabir, never forsake
The shelter of that Naam.

K.S.S., p. 90:33

All praise to the pauper
Who is absorbed in Naam,
Under his thatched roof
Full of holes;
Where devotion to the Master
Is not known,
A disgrace are such mansions
Of gold.

K.S.S., p. 90:35

All praise to the leper
In Naam absorbed,
Although his body
Ulcerates and wastes away;
What worth is that body
Perfect as gold
But devoid of Naam?

K.S.S., p. 86:35
