Worship the True Worshipper

The world tries to worship the Lord by adoring idols, paintings and symbols; by chanting hymns, telling beads or reading scriptures; and by indulging in various rituals in temples, churches, mosques and other holy places. Kabir says that such worship is not acceptable to the Lord. To love the Lord is the best way to worship Him and is the worship He approves of. Only the true lover of the Lord, who has become one with Him, is the true worshipper; he is the Saint or Master. Kabir calls upon the seeker to love and worship such a true worshipper.

Beloved Lord,
Either I have lost my senses
Or this world of Thine is insane.

The worship that the Lord approves not,
In that worship the world is entangled;
The worship that is dear to his heart,
These worshippers know nothing of.

To love Him, love Him and none else,
Is the worship that pleases Him.
To adore the Lord through love
The soul was parted from Him.

Why be involved in vain formalities?
Worship the true worshipper of the Lord.
Kabir sings the glory of His love,
He sings of what he has himself seen.
Who attains the rank of a lover
Is the true worshipper of the Lord.
