No Terror

Fear of death afflicts the entire world, but not the devotees who have been connected with Shabd or Word by a perfect Master. By the practice of Shabd they vacate their physical body and withdraw their mind and consciousness to the eye center in the same way that one leaves the body at the time of death. Death is neither an unknown terror for them nor a mystery, because they experience it during their daily spiritual practice and know exactly what it is. Kabir says that such devotees die in Sahaj — that is, they merge themselves in Sahaj, the highest spiritual region, the home of supreme bliss. The devotee who merges in Sahaj becomes immortal, for he is not required to return to this world of births and deaths.

Death terrifies the entire world;
That death has been unmasked for me
by the Master's Word.

How can I die, for I have experienced
death within myself?
Only they die again and again
who know not the Lord.

'Death is certain', 'Death will come',
says everyone;
But one who dies in Sahaj becomes immortal.

Says Kabir: I am immersed in ecstasy,
Delusion has dissolved and supreme bliss
abides within me.

How can I die now, for I have known
death within myself?
They die again and again
who know not the Lord.
