From the Same Light

The Lord is one. He has created all beings and He is present in every particle of his creation. The physical form of every human being is made out of the same five elements; in view of this there is no justification for looking on anyone as good or bad, superior or inferior. Kabir says that to call a human being bad amounts to finding fault with the Lord. A devotee who realizes that the world is moving under the order of God and accepts everything as his will, recognizes the Lord's presence everywhere. Kabir says that his Master has given him the nectar of inner realization and now he sees the Lord present in everyone.

In the beginning God projected Light,
From that Light came into being all men;
From the same Light emanated
The entire universe —
Whom then shall I call good, whom bad?
O man, do not be led into delusion:
He, the Creator, is in his creation
And the creation is Him — the Creator;
He fills all,
He pervades everything.

The clay is one,
But the Great Designer has designed it
In varied shapes, in many forms.
It does not become us to find fault
With the vessels of clay,
Nor with the Potter who shaped them.

He, the True One, dwells in all;
Whatever happens, happens by his will.
Whoever realizes his Order
Realizes Him — the One;
And only such a person can be called
The Lord's devotee, his true slave.

Allah, the Lord, is invisible,
He could not be seen,
But my Master gave me
The nectar of realization;
Its sweet bliss,
Like a dumb person
I taste but fail to express.

Says Kabir: My delusion is destroyed
For now I see the Boundless Lord
Present in all.
