Ferry me across

Hari mane par utar

Ferry me across, oh Lord. At Thy Lotus Feet I bow again and again, and pray: Dear Lord, ferry me across.

Born in this vale of tears, I have suffered great misery. Pray, dispel the sombre clouds of worldly sorrow and pain. The fetters of my own karmas bind and torment me. Shatter them, beloved Lord.

The entire world is tossing endlessly in the vortex of the terrible eighty-four.1 Mira implores Thee, dear Lord, rescue her from the whirl of birth and death.

Mira Bai
