Selections from Goethe

I believe that we carry within ourselves a spark of that Eternal Light which must be shining in the depth of our being and which our weak senses can only be dimly aware of. To kindle this spark to a flame and to attain God-Realisation is our most Sacred Duty.

‘I believe in God.’ This is a commendable phrase. But to realise where and how He manifests, this is the True Bliss on earth.

The stirring image of death is not looked upon as one of dread by the stage, nor as one of finality by the pious. The one is drawn back to life by it, teaching him how to live. The other, in sorrow, has his hope in future redemption strengthened. For both, the sage and the pious, death becomes life.

Live in the moment. Live in Eternity.
