From Jaimal Singh: Warmest greetings to Babu Sawan Singh, Babu Gulab Singh, Babu Gajja Singh, Doctor Issar Das, Narain Singh, Basant Singh, Harbans, Diwan Singh, Puran Singh, and all the other Satsangis.

My son

I am writing this letter to find out the appropriate pay for Aya Singh: at what monthly rate should his salary be paid? Please write after deciding about it. Also inform me by return post for how many months he should be paid, so that his arrears may be cleared. You have written asking me to pay Aya Singh’s wages: what should I give to him? I have not settled any wages with him. You should please let me know how many months Aya Singh stayed at Rawalpindi and how much he should be paid. Write to me and I will pay him. At this time the poor man is down with fever. He has no money or anything else with him, and he has received a letter from his home. I do not know whether or not he will go home. Please reply by return post as to how much he should be paid; write and let me know the amount you have settled upon.

This is to let you know again that the Sunday after you left, Bibi Kishen Kaur [Wife of Maharaj Sawan Singh], accompanied by Chanan Singh, came here from her home. She arrived on Saturday and left on Tuesday. She was expecting that you would come again on Sunday, but you did not come. Chanan Singh then returned with her.

It was stressed earlier that whenever you are free from official work, you should engage yourself in Bhajan and Simran without fail. Instead, when free, you not only do no Bhajan and Simran, but rather keep talking ill or well of others. This is not good; uselessly you are wasting time. What can you say to this? What good is it if that which is within your power is not realised? The attitude of a Satsangi should be to observe his own faults and see the virtues of others. Admonishing your mind in this way, attach with Love the surat, nirat, and the higher mind to the Shabd Dhun every day.

This is the way of Satsangis. This is how we should live daily so that at the time of death our mind and soul are not misled, so that the soul gets out of the jurisdiction of Kal and reaches its Real Home, Sach Khand, and the land of the Alakh, Agam, and Anami Lord. This is how we should live. Please do not worry about any worldly work, leave the self out and continue doing the work. The Satguru will let you act as He thinks proper, and indeed it has already been done. Whatever He had to do has already been accomplished. Keep Him in your mind and remain happy. In His Shabd form, He is looking after you from within. All the body forms that exist, their activities, life and senses, and the intellect and consciousness, everything is created by the Satguru – He is the Shabd, which is the Real Form of the Satguru. And Shabd is with you all the time, so why forget It?

Babu Sawan Singh is to please note that Babu Sujan Singh has received the pair of shoes. He is asking how much he should send in payment for them. Please let me know their price by return post, so that he may be informed accordingly. Warm greetings on behalf of Bibi Ji to you, her true brother. And warm regards to all the Satsangis from all the residents of the Dera. Please reply by return post.
