Lots of Love from Jaimal Singh to my obedient son, Babu Sawan Singh.

May the Grace and Mercy of the compassionate Hazur and the Anami Lord always be upon you, dear son.

Your letter has arrived and I am pleased to receive your news and to learn that you are doing well. You write that lust and anger are still with you as before.

Do your Bhajan and Simran every day, my son, and from time to time, leaving aside the desire for worldly work, contemplate on the Satguru’s form in the higher mind. If His form is seen clearly, then put the mind and soul at His Holy Feet and offer this supplication:

Oh Lord! Please merge my soul into Your Shabd form, Your True and Real Being.

Make this plea repeatedly for a quarter-hour (fifteen minutes), and then connect the soul slowly and gently to the Sound. Listen to the Melody as long as the mind remains absorbed in It, but do not allow any worldly desire to arise. The form of the heart centre lies below Sahasdal Kanwal at the left corner of the right eye – at a spot between the two eyes, but more towards the right eye – having settled there after descending from Trikuti. Its reflection is found at the throat, and then again at a third place, the area of the physical heart and navel. Concentration on these lower centres is forbidden. The true heart centre lies only above the eyes, in the left corner of the right eye. The Satguru’s form is in Trikuti; its duplicate, a complete form, lies above the eyes. The heart centre lies there. That is where the contemplation on the Satguru’s form is to be done, as I have described above. If the form of the Satguru’s image appears at that place, His darshan will be enjoyed every day. Because the being is very weak, totally unclean and surrounded by maya, he becomes pure through the darshan of the Satguru’s form and by following His teachings. The Satguru’s intrinsic form is Shabd Dhun. The disciple becomes very pure by listening to It, and exceedingly pure when he receives the Satguru’s full darshan within. The Satguru then observes whether the disciple’s worldly hopes and desires, both gross and subtle, are all gone, and if he is now a supplicant only for the Satguru’s form, pleased with the Satguru’s will, happy with however tough a command the Satguru may give, and saying honestly that whatever has happened is very good. The Satguru’s command is meditation, my son. When such an understanding has been achieved, the Satguru will at once take the disciple to Sach Khand. Thus there is no delay but that the being lacks the strength to go there.

You ask in your letter what sin has denied you darshan.

My son, there is no sin from the past hanging over you that would hold you back from the Spiritual Path. It was the Satguru’s wish that you should go to your place of work. No news was received from you. You had not requested earlier on that you wanted to come for a night to have darshan. The fruit of Satguru’s darshan has reached you, my son. If we request the Satguru to give us something, He may accept our request at the time. But He will then deliberate over the matter, and if He sees that it is not in the devotee’s interest, He will withdraw it immediately. He will know that it is not going to benefit him, so He will take it back at once. The Satguru is always with the disciple, but only if he gives himself resolutely to the Satguru:

Nanak aap chhod gur maahi samaavai.

Surrending the self, he merges in the Guru.

Bibi’s best wishes to you, her dear brother, and to Chanan Singh, Basant Singh, Babu Mohan Singh, and Babu Hari Ram. May Grace and Mercy be upon all of you. You should all do your Bhajan and Simran every day. Please convey my warm regards to everybody; best wishes from Bibi to everyone. Best wishes from all the Satsangis and Sadhus at the Dera to everyone there and to Babu Ji. So far no one has come to apply coal tar to the durbar hall. Its roof needs to be tarred. When you are free, remember to pick up some coal tar. I am pleased with you, my son. Do your work, happy in His will. All work done in the will of the Guru is spiritual in nature.
