Sri Wahiguru Ji ki Fateh and lots of Love from Jaimal Singh to my obedient son, Babu Sawan Singh Ji.

May the infinite Grace and Mercy of the compassionate Lord be upon you all the time.

I have received your two letters in the same cover, which also included a verse in Gurumukhi from the Granth Sahib. Also received was a postcard in Urdu about meat and alcohol. I was very happy and pleased to receive your news. I also always entreat Hazur to cancel all the bad karmas of Satsangis: some of these will come to an end by being worked through; others He will forgive.

You wrote that the doctors asked you to take meat and alcohol in order to get well and that you replied,

Only if my Satguru says so shall I have them.

Well, the Satguru’s word is one my son, not two or three.

The rest I shall explain personally when I come to visit you. About the brick-kiln: it has been well baked and will cool down in a couple of months. The construction of the well will start then. Also, I have to visit you, so work will start after I return. Money, my son, is not yet needed – it is you who are needed; so may Hazur soon have Mercy on you. You should write to me every week. Hazur will be merciful – do not worry about it. Please ask the person who writes your letters to do so in Gurumukhi. The Shabd in Gurumukhi from Sri Guru Granth Sahib was very well written.

Do not worry about anything; the Lord can instantly forgive innumerable khattas of sin. One lakh sins constitutes an aggh, and one lakh1 agghs equals one khatta. Thus He forgives millions upon millions of sins in an instant.

Beloved son, I am extremely pleased with you. Do not be afraid to keep lying in one position, as a broken bone mends in this way.

The compassionate Lord is protecting us at every moment; He will forgive you in every way.

When you send a letter home, write of your well-being and happiness, for indeed you are well. Why bother to write home if the body suffers for a few days? Those at home will worry unnecessarily. No, simply inform them that you are well and happy.

Be attentive to the Shabd Dhun every day. Try to increase the intensity of effort – and listen! Listening to It repeatedly will purify the soul and mind. Bodily suffering cannot affect you for our Real Home is Sach Khand where there is no body. The Shabd Dhun, too, is an aspect of that home, just as the sound that issues from the tongue is not separate from the body. When the soul is caught by the Unstruck Melody of the Shabd, it automatically ascends to Sach Khand by remaining absorbed in the music of the Shabd Dhun. The Shabd Dhun comes from Sach Khand, and it will transport the soul to the same place.

A verse from Sri Guru Granth Sahib says:

Vaajai anahad meraa man kenaa.

The Inner Music Sounds; my mind is rapt.

The soul will definitely reach Sach Khand – the body is a mere cover. So have no apprehension of any kind.

Best wishes from Bibi to you, her brother. Please convey Ram Ram to Hari Ram. As in so many letters you have written that an intense longing for darshan persists, the fruit of darshan keeps accruing to you and your mind is becoming greatly purified. My son, no practice of any kind can measure up to the mind’s longing for the Satguru’s darshan.
