Lots of Love from Jaimal Singh to my obedient son, Babu Sawan Singh.

May the Grace and Mercy of the compassionate Hazur be upon you all the time.

Your letter has been received and I feel very happy to know that you are doing well. You have written that you are unable to ride a horse to go around with the other officers. This condition is only for a month, after that you may start riding the horse. Have no fear. You have done well in going around in a sedan chair. You have also written that your supervising officer is being transferred and that his replacement is a strict person. A strict officer is good, because the government work is then done with care and concern.

The Satguru is with and within us –

Saah patisaah sabh hari kaa keeaa.

Kings and emperors are all made by the Lord.

Keep the Shabd Dhun always in mind. It alone does all the work by being present in everything. It is the ever-present protector, my son.

You asked about the well: work on it has started. The wooden sill of the masonry chamber is now being constructed. So the work is underway, but labour is hard to find. Still, we are determined now to carry it through. Twenty rupees have been sent for the awning. One person has been sent to personally handle it. So once the material arrives, the stitching will start upon Issar Das’s return. At that time sixty-yard-long ropes will also be ordered.

Dear son, please convey my warm regards to Babu Hari Ram, Babu Mohan Singh, Ram Piara, Chanan Singh, Kaka Ram, Gali Ram, to the elder Bibi Ji and the younger Bibi Ji. May the blessings of Grace and Mercy from the compassionate Hazur be upon them all. Convey this to everyone:

Listen to the Shabd Dhun every day, and always keep Simran in your mind when working or moving around, sleeping or sitting.

The younger Bibi Ji is suffering from a karmic illness; it will disappear by itself after a short while. Keep giving her some medicine, because without medication, the sufferer harbours a suspicion of not being treated at all. She should listen to the Shabd Dhun every day – that is her Real Medicine. In the course of time all her illness will disappear. Believe this firmly in your mind that man can do nothing. As the Lord’s command continues to unfold, the individual keeps on acting accordingly. Whosoever is posted as your superior will be all for your good. Try to listen to the Shabd Dhun every day, because whatever is happening is being done by the current of the Shabd.

Satguru is the creator of all: He will give that which He thinks to be good. If our benefit lies in pleasure, He will send us pleasure; if it lies in pain, He will send us pain. So look upon pain and pleasure as the same.

Please accept Bibi’s best wishes to you, her dear brother; Bibi’s best wishes also to all the Satsangis. Also warm regards from all the Satsangis at the Dera to you, Babu Ji, and to the other Satsangis there. May Grace and Mercy be upon Basant Singh. Please accept best wishes from Dasaundha Singh.

My son, please do not decrease your intake of ghee since it alone is good for you – you may, if you like, cut down on the amount of milk.
