Lots of Love and Sri Wahiguru Ji ki Fateh from Jaimal Singh to my obedient son, Babu Sawan Singh Ji.

We are all well and happy, and always pray to the compassionate Lord, the ever-benevolent, ever-merciful forgiver of all sinners, for your health, happiness and well-being. Beyond everything is the Almighty Lord. Through His Grace and Mercy He looks after millions upon millions of worlds. May He always be merciful, loving, and the saviour of sinners. This is how His goodness is always there. My Satguru, dear son, is Swami Ji Whom I always implore for your well-being. I was very happy to receive your two letters enclosed in the same envelope, which also included a verse in Gurumukhi from Sri Guru Granth Sahib that I was very pleased to read. You write that it would be good if you left government service to stay at the feet of the Master because there is not much free time in the service. Well, you are always with me, my son, not far away. Until the account of debit and credit with others is settled, it is not possible to break free from worldly ties.

When the Lord bestows His Grace and Mercy on any individual – that He will join with Him the soul whom He has forgiven, that it is not to be given a birth again – then incarnating Himself as Satguru, He blesses that individual with Naam Dhun, that is, the sound of the Shabd, within the body. Innumerable karmas of the individual are cancelled when the Satguru gives the teaching of the five Shabds, but the balance sheet itself is not cancelled. Through the strength of His Spiritual wealth, the Satguru has the power to instantly connect the soul of an individual with His own soul and carry it immersed within the Dhun. But that person’s soul cannot blend into the Dhun; it will stay below Daswan Dwar. It cannot merge into the pure Dhun above Daswan Dwar. Only after meditating upon the Dhun for many ages will that soul become pure. However, at that stage also there are many enlightened souls, hansas, with high achievements. The soul will reside among them for many births. Then whenever the Satguru comes again from Sach Khand and again imparts the teaching of the Shabd, that soul will reach Sach Khand. The promise, however, is that the soul will never come below Sahasdal Kanwal but will remain in the higher regions.

As regards the individual whose karmic account – including the subtle karmas, the bad karmas of past births with roots above Trikuti – the Perfect Satguru is to settle within the body itself: the Satguru detaches him from all desires and expectations of worldly pleasures, all hopes and expectations from son, daughter, mother, father, wife, and maya, that is, from the whole creation of the five elements (tattva); strengthens his Love and devotion for the Satguru’s Holy Feet; and then by attaching Him to the Shabd Dhun purifies him day by day. As the disciple’s Love for the Shabd Dhun Guru grows steadfast, the soul, becoming absolutely pure, merges into the Shabd Guru, which is the Real Form of the Satguru. That soul thus becomes superconscious.

The Perfect Satguru then bestows upon it the power to ascend from the body, by way of the five Shabds, to Sach Khand, passing from one Shabd to the next, and then by the same Path to descend from Sach Khand to the body. Thereafter, whenever the soul desires, it can at once ascend to Sach Khand by the same way.

But this power belongs to a Gurumukh, and not to everyone in Spiritual Pursuit. Therefore, to settle a karmic account, the Perfect Satguru separates the devotee from his physical form but not from the Shabd Dhun.

So you are serving me in every way. The work that you do for the government or in your house is Satguru’s work, and doing Bhajan and Simran is also Satguru’s work.

All occupations, mind, body and wealth, whatever exists, all and everything belong to the Satguru. I am nothing.

Realise and understand that

I am merely the one who carries out His work.

The self should be totally surrendered. I have written out this point briefly here and shall explain it in more detail when I come to visit you. Please read this letter again and again in order to understand it. The letters that I write to you are never to be torn up – recount them to me when I come to visit you.

You wrote to ask if money was needed. There is no such need at the moment. We shall see when the need arises later on.

Keep your attention in Bhajan and Simran every day, for then you will feel much less pain in the body. Please write your letters to me in Gurumukhi; you should send one every week. Also write when you rejoin service, I shall then come to visit you. You write that the longing for darshan persists day and night. This, too, is and the fruit of darshan keeps accruing to you. To experience True Love for the Satguru is Bhajan. You will reach Sach Khand without delay.

Bibi sends best wishes to you, her brother; the other Satsangis also send warm regards to you, Babu Sawan Singh Ji. Ram Ram to Hari Ram; please write about Hari Ram in Gurumukhi. Which place does he belong to and what is his caste? What work does he do? Is he married? Does he have children? Write all this and also if he has previously received any Spiritual Teachings from a sadhu of some faith or some brahmin pandit? Does he practise simran of Gayatri Sandhya? Whatever he does, write about it to me in Gurumukhi. What does he read: Urdu, Gurumukhi, or Devnagri? Write to me on all these points.
