Lots of Love with Grace and Mercy from Jaimal Singh to my obedient son, Babu Sawan Singh; blessings of the Lord’s peace on you.

Your letter has been received and I feel extremely happy to read of your well-being. I shall visit your village, Mehmansinghwala, when you go there on leave. You write that you do not expect to receive even a single pice this year.

My son, you have become despondent over nothing. No! Have faith. No obstacle will stand in your way; all your affairs will work out well. You should not worry like this – the Lord has all the money in the world.

‘The person substituting for you has been awarded the fruit of your year’s hard work, and orders have been passed to stop your pay – that you are not to be remunerated.’

No. The Lord will give to you as well, my son. You just keep watching what He does. It is all His doing that He takes the money away from one person and gives it to another. This is His play. Only a Gurumukh can understand it. Do not worry about how your family will be fed, or how you will be able to carry on. The Lord will take care of everything. Our house belongs to the Lord, as also does our wealth – family, shop, mansions, land, body, soul, village – everything belongs to him He will look after everything to the end. You will receive as much wealth as you want, my son, and all the promotions you desire. At present this is His will.

Your leg will get well and you will feel normal as before.

Please do not worry about anything except doing your Bhajan and Simran. Whatever else the Lord had to do has been done once and for all. Throughout one’s life only that will happen which is written on the forehead. Nothing new is going to come about. Be patient. Nothing will remain wanting, my son. Do not keep any attachments within yourself. Our Home is Sach Khand. He whose hope is attached to Sach Khand has absolutely nothing to fear; he whose heart is steadfast in Love for the Satguru is always wealthy.

Whatever else was to happen to you at this time will be described when I come to visit you.

You write that letters have come from home asking about the nature of your illness. If you like, you may give them the information; or, if you so desire, you may withhold it. But the letter you send there should contain good news only, so that it does not cause them any distress.

Bibi’s best wishes to you, her dear brother. Warm regards also from all the Satsangis and from Dasaundha Singh.

Whatever karmas are written on your forehead cannot be erased by anyone. Have firm faith and remain content in your mind. Naam itself is the wealth and the Lord has already given you the whole wealth of Naam. Listen to the Shabd Dhun each day and attach the mind and soul firmly to the Dhun – you will then enjoy its bliss and the mind will never be distracted by desires. Always keep the Satguru’s form in your mind. Then the mind, becoming pure, will receive the full rapture of the Dhun. Worldly hopes, desires, and attachments, which are the root of all suffering, will then immediately leave the mind. They will never stay where the Perfect Satguru’s form is present.
