Lots of Love from Jaimal Singh to my obedient son, Babu Sawan Singh.

This is to let you know that we are all well and happy here, and shall always pray to Hazur for your health and happiness.

Your letter arrived, informing me of your whole situation.

My beloved son, the Satguru is always with you – have absolutely no worry in this regard. You will go to Sach Khand – Sat Lok – in my company. You should look upon everything as the Satguru’s: body, mind and wealth, all belong to Him. Do not consider anything as your own.

You had mentioned coming on leave on 20 December 1896. Whenever you come on leave, it would be good to let me know beforehand about the date of your arrival. Someone can then go to the railway station to pick you up in a tonga. Dear Pntam Singh did stay with me for five or six days. I had to go to Ambala, so he accompanied me up to Ludhiana.

As regards darshan1: in six months’ time – not possible before then. This was His command. Please understand that all worldly work, everything, is the Satguru’s; that the Satguru is the doer of everything, you merely provide the name. When all official and domestic responsibilities have been fulfilled, the attention, surat, will not part from the Shabd. Hazur is very pleased with you – have no worry of any kind. Listen to the Shabd Dhun every day when you are free. The more you listen, the purer you will become, and the soul will reach Sach Khand. So fix the attention inwardly in the Shabd – the Satguru’s form is with you all the time.

_______________

Explanation: 1) To look at a Saint, or to receive a glimpse of Him. The Darshan of the Satguru is worth hundred years of Bhajan. So, in our times, every initiate should aspire to have the Darshan of Kirpal within. That word is also misused when someone is in the presence of an imperfect so-called master or so-called spiritual teacher; but that is not its real meaning.
