Ik Onkaar Satgur Parsaad.1

There is but one God. By the True Guru’s Grace He is obtained.

Wahiguru Ji ki Fateh and joyful greetings from Jaimal Singh to my obedient son, Babu Sawan Singh Ji.

We are all well and happy in every way, and always pray for your health and happiness to the compassionate Lord, Satguru.

Your 10 rupees were duly received: 5 were sent by draft from Sathiala post office to Agra on 12 August for the bandhara2, and 5 have been spent on the free kitchen for the Sangat here. A large Satsang is held here every Sunday. Satsangis from all around – from across the river as well – come here for the Satsang on Sunday. Bandhara and free kitchen, etc., are all held here with food being distributed right into the night. All your money has been spent for Spiritual Ends, in seva3 – you have done much too much.

As no letter had come from you for some time, I started to inquire about where you might have gone. This thought had just come to me when that very day your money order for 10 rupees arrived. Now please send me the exact address of your residence and also write about your well-being.

Do your Bhajan and Simran regularly every day. Read Hazur Swami Ji’s Holy Books attentively, and whenever you have time listen daily to the Shabd Dhun.

Your letter has arrived and I am very happy to read it. You write that you do not hear any sound distinctly. Do not worry, my son. When you listen to the Sound, focus on the bell-like sound – first comes the sharp chirping sound, like that of a cricket, next will come a deep and full sound like that of a conch. Do not worry at all about reaching Sach Khand. Hold on to the five-fold melody of the Shabd, the Shabd Dhun, that has been given to you – one day, It will take you to Sach Khand because It emanates from there. The Sound comes only to take the soul up with itself. The soul of whosoever finds a Satguru, custodian of the five shabds’ secret, and learns from Him their whole mystery, will certainly ascend as it gradually becomes pure. Do not be in a hurry, my son.

I have not left the Dera4 since coming back in the month of Phagun. You should not have listened to anyone else because you could have received the information by writing a letter to me at the Dera. I am very happy with you. You should continue just as you have been instructed to do and you will assuredly go with me. Do not have any worry in this respect. Do your Bhajan daily; the soul will become purified, my son. One should not become perturbed by pain or pleasure, which come through his command. Best wishes from Bibi and Ganda Singh. You have received the fruit of darshan since you felt deep regret at not having had darshan. You write that I should come to your place for a visit. Well, at present I am unable to do so as Satsang is now held regularly at the Dera. But we will see in the winter.

3) Selfless Service. Seva can be done physically or through the Soul. The Highest Service is this, which is done through the Soul – by connecting oneself with the Sound Current.

4) The Dera Baba Jaimal Singh is a settling at the river Beas. It was established by Baba Jaimal Singh, Who was also living there. Under Hazur Sawan Singh the Dera achieved the dimension of a small town. Before His physical departure Hazur advised Kirpal Singh to leave the Dera. That way it happened. Kirpal Singh took the Spiritual Blessing with Him. Today the Dera is a place of Gaddi Nashin.
