Experience of Death in Life and New Birth

IV

To liberate one's soul by withdrawing it at will from the bondage of body, mind, pranas (Vital Airs), and outgoing faculties in their various grades of density; enable it to know itself and to participate ultimately in the Life Divine and become Conscious Co-worker of the Divine Plan. When a person sees the Reality, face to face, he becomes a Theist in the true sense of the word. This blossoming of the microcosm into macrocosm actually means taking a New Birth – the Birth of the Spirit; as it is called.

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.

St John 3:3

Except a man be born of Water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

St John 3:5

Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God.

Corinthians 1:47

Hereafter a person walks not after the flesh but after the Spirit.

If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his Cross daily and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.

St Luke 9:23-24

Learn how to die so that you may begin to live.

Thomas a Kempis

Blessed is the man who daily prepares himself to die [...] and forsakes the flesh for the spirit.

St Paul said that the last enemy we have to conquer is Death. By following the teachings of the Master, one transcends the body at will and as such loses all sting of death. Kabir, a great Saint of India said, –

The worldly people are afraid of death, but when I hear of it, I am full of peace and joy.

The Way back to God truly lies in knowing how to die in life. Such a one through the Grace of the Master, successfully crosses over the sea of life.

Dadu Ji, another saint, speaks of it, –

Dadu, learn to die in advance of death, for in the end all have to die.

Maulana Rumi a Muslim Divine, likewise says, –

So long a person does not transcend the sensual plane, he remains a stranger to the Inner-Life.

Learn to die, oh friend, before death, if you want to have an everlasting life.

Speaking on the memorable line of the great Shelley, –

One remains: the many change and pass.

Earl R. Wassermann, tells us, –

Learn to go unterrified into the gulf of death [...] for where mortal existence ends, the spiritual existence begins. With death the resurrected soul out-soars the shadows of the night, and is re-incorporated into the Changeless One.

When a man learns to transcend into the Beyond the Master appears in His radiant form to help the soul onward to its True Home, guiding it in life and after, in this world and in the next. In this way the highest mission of life is achieved. This is a subject of contacting the Higher Self by practical self-analysis and can be achieved under proper guidance and help of a competent Master by seekers after Truth irrespective of caste, creed or colour.
